Take-Two taas tutkimusten kohteeksi

Take-Two Interactive on saanut pörssiä valvovalta Securities and Exchange Commissionilta (SEC) ilmoituksen, että jotkin yhtiön vuodesta 1997 tähän päivään myöntämät osakeoptiot ovat epämuodollisten tutkimusten kohteena.

Take-Two kertoi aloittaneensa jo aikaisemmin omat sisäiset tutkimukset asiasta ja ilmoitti olevansa valmis yhteistyöhön SEC:n kanssa.

Lumines-firmalta "uusi" peli

PSP:n Lumines - ja DS:n Meteos -peleistä tunnettu Q Entertainment aikoo tuoda Gunpey-puzzlen molemmille käsikonsoleille.

Gunpeyn ideoi alunperin herra Gunpei Yokoi, jolla oli suuri vaikutus muun muassa Game & Watch -, Game Boy - ja WonderSwan-pelilaitteiden syntyyn. Gunpey julkaistiinkin alunperin vain japanilaisten riemuksi jääneelle Wonder Swanille. Yokoi menehtyi auto-onnettomuudessa vuonna 1997 ja ja hänelle myönnettiin vuonna 2003 Game Developer’s Conferencen elämäntyöpalkinto.

Mercenaries 2 myös Xbox 360:lle?

Pandemic Studios esitteli E3-messuilla PS3:lle kehitteillä olevan Mercenaries 2: World in Flamesin, joka on jatko-osa hyvän vastaanoton Xboxilla ja PS2:lla viime vuonna saaneelle Mercenaries: Playground of Destructionille.

Julkaisijaa vailla oleva peli saattaa kuitenkin olla tulossa myös Xbox 360:lle, sillä Pandemicin edustaja kertoi IGN:lle, että studio harkitsee ehdottomasti sitäkin vaihtoehtoa. Virallisia ilmoituksia on luvassa lähikuukausien aikana.

Wii-sirujen tuotanto kasvaa

Wiin piirilevyjen tuottajat ovat kertoneet Nintendon tilausten kasvusta, mikä viittaisi siihen, että yhtiön uusi konsoli tosiaan tulisi markkinoille hyvissä ajoin ennen Sonyn Playstation 3:a.

Grafiikkapiirejä valmistavan ATI:n ohella konsolin mullistavaan ohjaimeen siruja tuottavan PixArt Imagingin tuotanto kiihtyy, sillä elokuussa sen toimitusten pitäisi nousta miljoonaan kappaleeseen.

Just Causen demo piakkoin kauppapaikalla

Katu-uskottavan K1lla's Xbox Domainin haastateltavana olleet Avalanche Studiosin edustajat paljastivat, että ruotsalaisfirman kehittämästä Just Causesta on tulossa piakkoin Xbox 360:n kauppapaikalle demo. Tarkkaa päivämäärää ei annettu, mutta kokeiluversion lisäksi ladattavaksi tulee muutakin peliin liittyvää sälää ainakin trailereiden ja teemojen muodossa.

Studion omalla Avalanche Enginellä pyörivä Just Cause on vapaamuotoinen toimintapakkaus, joka antaa pelaajille leikkikentäksi saarista muodostuvan, paratiisimaisen San Esperiton.

DS vastaan PSP: 2-1

DS:n suosio Japanissa on saavuttanut täysin uudenlaiset mittakaavat DS Liten julkaisun myötä. Nintendon käsikonsoli on jo sen verran kuumaa tavaraa, ettei se ole ainoastaan napannut konsolimyyntitilastojen ensimmäistä sijaa, vaan myös toisenkin!

Vuoden 2006 ensimmäisen puolen vuoden myyntitilastot osoittavat DS Liten pitävän kärkisijaa, kun taas perinteisempi DS-malli on toiseksi ylimmällä korokkeella. Molempia laitteita on myyty nousevan auringon maassa yhteensä 3,9 miljoonaa kappaletta, kun taas kolmanteen sijoitukseen tyytyvää PSP:tä on myyty miljoona kappaletta.

HDMI-liitin sittenkin Xbox 360:aan?

Xbox-Scene on saanut anonyymiltä lähteeltä kuvan HDMI-liittimellä varustetusta Xbox 360 -emolevystä, jollaisia lähettäjä on sanojensa mukaan nähnyt jo kolme kappaletta. Mikäli Microsoft todella aikoo lisätä konsoliinsa jälkikäteen digitaalisen ulostulon, antaa se myös uutta puhtia huhuille sisäisestä HD-DVD-asemasta.

Toisaalta kuva voi olla puhdas huijaus, joten mitään hätäisiä johtopäätöksiä ei vielä kannata tehdä. Kyseessä on puhdas huhu.
